Safety & Security

FamilyEverest's telecommunication services are certified by 911 with back up capabilities providing safety and security for your family that's not guaranteed with VoIP or Internet telephone services. We utilize conventional switch technology to provide crystal-clear, uninterrupted phone service.

We at Everest believe in maintaining the most reliable service, that's why we monitor our network 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Network Operations Center, or NOC, oversees our entire network, watching for the slightest service degradation to reduce our response time and provide you with the most reliable network available.

Things to Keep in Mind
When your phone service relies on the Internet to work properly, many variables effect each phone call. Though Everest is always mindful of innovation, Internet phone service has not proven to be reliable enough for our customers.

  • Power Back-Up and 911 Capabilities
Some Internet phone services don't work during power outages and the service provider may not offer backup power. It may also be difficult for some Internet phone services to seamlessly connect with the 911 dispatch center or identify the location of Internet phone 911 callers.
  • Internet Traffic
High levels of traffic during peak hours slow down the Internet on a daily basis. Logically, these same levels of traffic will slow down phone calls sent across the Internet.
  • Packet-Switch Technology
Calls over the Internet simply take your voice and turn the sound into data "packets." These packets are then transmitted from one server to another until they reach the person you are calling, where they are turned back into your voice. The servers only transmit data when a packet is sent and received. Though this is very efficient, sometimes data packets are lost or misdirected on the Internet meaning calls are not always complete.
